VILNIUS, Jun 22, BNS – Secondary school graduation examination session kicks off in Lithuania on Monday with the English language exam, which will be taken by 18,653 candidates, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports has announced.

Even though the lockdown has already been lifted, exams this year will be organized following more stringent safety precautions. Secondary school graduates will take exams in groups of nine persons, as opposed to groups of 14 persons last year.

In addition, the candidates will be seated at a larger physical distance from each other and premises will be equipped with sanitizers.

Examination candidates will have to carry an ID document and the necessary supplies. Those taking examinations are advised to wear facemasks or respirators and disposable gloves.

School graduation examinations this year will be taken by more than 26,000 secondary school and professional school graduates, or by a total of 28,267 candidates, with former pupils and early graduates included.

The main secondary school graduation examination session will end on July 21 with the physics examination.
