VILNIUS, Apr 01, BNS – 108 people are currently being treated in hospital for coronavirus in Lithuania, and 11 of them are in a serious condition, Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said on Wednesday.

"We have 108 patients in hospitals, including eight in intensive care and three cases with artificial lung ventilation. So we have 11 serious cases and 28 cases with oxygen that are not very serious," he told a press conference.

A total of 581 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuania by 7 a.m. on Wednesday, and 48 new cases were confirmed over the last 24 hours.

All in all, 1,849 samples were tested on Tuesday, bringing the total to 12,574.

Eight people have died of coronavirus in the country so far and seven have recovered.
